YOGA INFO

Your fisiocrem GC50 Sunrise Yoga session will guide you into stretches that target areas of the body commonly used by runners, as well as introduce you to mindful breathing techniques to help you better access your oxygen.

All this will be sealed with a relaxing savasana meditation, as we fade away to the sound of the waves!

Come with your positive, open-mind and leave with a new-found sense of calm, strength and focus for your fisiocrem GC50 Run Festival weekend.

Kat Cacavas is a Gold Coast-based Dietitian, Teacher and Founder of Created Connections. Kat loves spending her spare time running along the gorgeous local beaches. She noticed huge improvements in her own running – both physically and mentally – after she returned from an intensive yoga teaching course, with her first race back being the fisiocrem GC50!

Kat has since gone on to create and teach her own special blend of yoga for runners and other athletes, and loves hearing how this too has benefitted people in her local community. Reach out to Kat to see how you can join in one of her on-line or on-location classes!

You can contact Kat here, or follow her on social media @createdconnections.

The Sunrise Yoga Session will take place on Saturday 23 November from Queen Elizabeth Park, Coolangatta (event venue).

There is one session available that will commence at 6:00am.

The first 50 Sunrise Yoga spots are available now for just $5.95, with all proceeds going to the Make Ways Foundation.

After the first 50 spots are filled, the booking fee will become $9.95, again with all proceeds going to the Make Ways Foundation.

Make Ways Foundation is a registered charity working to create health, education and employment pathways for vulnerable young people living in poverty.

In 2023, Make Ways Foundation sent a shipping container filled with donated pre-loved sporting goods to Sierra Leone. Upon its arrival, Make Ways Sports, a not-for-profit sports store, opened its doors to much community celebration.

This store has created a circular economy – saving items destined for landfill in Australia – and giving them a second life. This model of self-determination is employing youth, teaching life skills, and building community opportunities. In other words, it is truly helping to change the lives of vulnerable young people in one of the world’s poorest countries. Look out for donation boxes at fisiocrem GC50 Run Festival!

Make Ways Foundation is completely volunteer run, meaning every dollar goes straight to the cause. You can learn more about this local charity here.
