However you travel to the fisiocrem GC50 Run Festival, it’s important to plan ahead and arrive at least one hour prior to your race start. Where possible, we highly recommend car-pooling with friends and family to reduce traffic within the local area.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Bus routes 700, 760 and 768 offer frequent services into Coolangatta. The nearest bus stops for Queen Elizabeth Park are ‘Queen Elizabeth Park’ on McLean St and ‘Coolangatta Central’ located on Griffith Street.

Local taxi providers and Uber provide a hassle free way of travelling to and from the event, avoiding the requirement to park your vehicle.
Recommended drop off and pick up location is Lanham Street – a short 300m stroll to the Event Precinct.

If you’re visiting from interstate and fly into the Gold Coast, the airport is conveniently located just minutes from the heart of Coolangatta.
Arriving at the Gold Coast Airport, a centrally located information desk offers assistance with any ongoing transport options you may require including transfers, shuttles, car hire and taxis/ride share.
For an affordable and convenient way of getting into Coolangatta, the local bus service (760 route) departs frequently and takes approximately 15 minutes to reach central Coolangatta. There are also taxis available from outside the terminal that will take you directly to your accommodation.
PARKING
There are various public parking options that provide easy walking access to Queen Elizabeth Park, however please note public parking is limited and we strongly recommend car pooling, or using public transport wherever possible.
Chalk and Lanham Street Car Park: Parking here is free for 3 hours and the venue is a short 300m walk from this car park. This car park is accessed from Chalk Street.
Boundary Street: Free, public parking is available on Boundary Street, Coolangatta. A short 600m walk to and from the Event Precinct.
Tweed Mall: Tweed Mall, located on Wharf Street (Tweed) offers complimentary parking and is just a short 1200m stroll along Wharf St to Coolangatta beach, where the Event Precinct is located.
The Strand: The Strand Shopping Centre on Marine Parade provides secure undercover parking 100m from the Event Precinct. Parking is free on weekends for the first two hours.
Kirra Beach: Just around the headland – a 550m walk to the venue. Please note, that parking here will only be available on Saturday 23 November and not Sunday 24 November due to event road closures.
On Sunday 24 November a complimentary Park and Ride service will be available from Tweed Mall. To view more information on the Park and Ride service, please click here.
Secure, free parking for the service is available within Tweed Mall in the Bay Street car park, with the bus pick up location located on Wharf Street. Shuttle bus journey time in both directions is approx. 8-10 minutes.
Dedicated Event Parking is available on Jarvis Lane (Goodwin Park) on Saturday 23 November & Sunday 24 November. Parking here is limited and available on a first come-first served basis. Gold Coin Donation payable on entry, with all proceeds going to the community group managing the parking.

If you live locally, cycling to and from the event is a great option. There are a number of bike parking facilities located within Coolangatta on Marine Parade, Griffith Street and Chalk Street.
ROAD CLOSURES
For the safety of participants, volunteers and general public some controlled road closures will be in place in Coolangatta, Kirra and Bilinga on Sunday 24 November from 3:30am – 09:30am. Please note, there are no road closures on Saturday 23 Nov.
